Malaysia wins AFF-Suzuki Cup on 4-2 aggregate; PM declares Friday a public holiday

JAKARTA: Malaysia has won the AFF-Suzuki Cup on a 4-2 aggregate. Indonesia won the second leg of the final 2-1 in Jakarta on Wednesday night while Malaysia had won the first leg 3-0 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The scorers for Indonesia were Mohammad Ridwan (87th minute) and Mohammad Nasuha (71st). Safee Sali had scored in the 53rd minute to put Malaysia 1-0 in the lead.
It was a significant success for Malaysia as the last time the senior national team became champions in a regional competition was at the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

It was also the first time in the AFF Championships since 1996 that Malaysia has become champions.
To make it a grand night for Malaysia, Safee won the Golden Boot award with five goals to his name. The striker was on target twice in the first leg.
Later Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak declared Friday, Dec 31, a public holiday in recognition of our team's AFF-Suzuki Cup triumph.
Malaysia started with the same line-up that was fielded in the first leg, except for midfielder Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal and right-back Mahali Jasuli, who were suspended. The duo were replaced by Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin and Mohd Sabree Abu respectively.

The Indonesians were without their inspirational flanker Okto Maniani, who was also out on suspension while striker Yongky Ari Bowo was out with an injury. Their replacements were Arif Suyono and Irfan Bachdim respectively.
As expected, Indonesia came charging from the starting whistle but the Malaysian defence led by Mohd Muslim Ahmad and Mohd Fadhli Shas did well to keep a tight leash on Indonesian dangermen Christian Gonzales and Irfan Bachdim.
But a lapse of concentration inside the box resulted in Indonesia winning a penalty in the 15th minute, when Mohd Sabree handled the ball.

However, much to the disappointment of the Indonesian fans, skipper Firman Utina’s tame kick was saved by Malaysian goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
The Indonesians, who were desperate for an early goal, kept on pressing for the opening goal but Khairul Fahmi proved to be a stumbling block, denying at least five attempts at goal before the half-time break.
Malaysia took the lead against the run of play in the 53rd minute, when Ashaari sent a long through ball for Safee to chase, and the Selangor hitman scored a clinical goal.

Despite being a goal down, Indonesia never gave up and their persistence paid off as defender Mohammad Nasuha pounced on a loose ball from goalkeeper Khairul’s save to hit the roof of the net in the 71st minute.
Then with the clock ticking away, Muhammad Ridwan scored from a goal-mouth melee in the 87th minute but this was not enough to deny Malaysia the AFF-Suzuki Cup.

Speechless!!!

I've watched so many games involving our national team for the past 20 years..Without any doubt,-December 26,2010-was the best thing ever..
Everything was PERFECTO!!!

Crazy environment outside the stadium before the match,stadium PENUH to its full capacity,4 hours full of singing,jumping and cheering, EVERYONE supported Malaysia (bukan macam time Man U/Chelsea datang aritu),...and the most important thing, we played well,main ada system,short passes,creative movements,we were calm tapi keras,full of fighting spirits,never gave up,kept the momentum till the final whistle..and WON!!Bukan satu,bukan dua...but 3-0!!!!

Feeling dia macam menang World Cup braderrr!!!(..Insyallah one day~)..Kale,Fairuz dah high sepanjang highway ke Subang with their Malaysian flags..haha!!!

The celebration was crazy!!!!No one cares about EPL that night..Barcelona ke,Real ke,Brazil ke,who cares!!

And I believe kalau semua orang datang sokong Malaysia macam ni,mana-mana team pun akan goyang.. Next time kalau Man U ke,Chelsea,Barca,Real Madrid or even Liverpool datang sekalipun,I hope everyone will give full support to our own national team,not foreign clubs like what we saw last Sunday.. Wear our own national team jersey!Truly speaking,I've never seen everyone was so united and busy cheering all the way (not swearing) in any of my experience before..

Hakikatnya,kita belum menang lagi..But I believe everyone was satisfied with the performance and the spirits.. Penyokong memang laa happy and celebrate macam dah menang..Cuma yang gua pelik,player pun celebrate macam dah menang piala..huhu!!!Takpe lah,kasi chance..:-)..After all,we haven't seen this kind of supports and self-believes in yearsssssss..

My man of the match goes to everyone!!!!But Safee,Idlan Talaha and Mahalli dapat point lebih sikit..:-)

This old song has always been in my heart since the day I started following the Malaysian international soccer team in the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur...That was absolutely one of the best moment for Malaysian football..

That squad was definitely the best ever so far in my lifetime..We were the best among the best..Malaysia had the most complete squad,perfect in every position and even those on the bench..We had Rashid Hassan,Ong Yu Tiang to take care of the goal posts,and the likes of Shebby Singh,Razip Ismail,Lim Teong Kim,Ahmad Yusoff,Zainal Abidin Hassan,Dollah Salleh,Subadron Aziz,Radhi Mat Din,See Kim Seng,and others.. Singapore had Fandi Ahmad,Malek Awab,K.Kannan,David Lee and other star players,while Thailand had the deadly trio, Piyapong Pue-On,Attapol Buspakom,Vitoon Kijmongkolsak..Indonesia was not even on the list..

I met Rajagopal once a few years ago when he brought some of this batch of players for Malaysian under-19 training in Perth..We were even close to organize a social friendly match between this team and Malaysian students in Curtin..During my days in Perth,I had the opportunity to meet and discuss about Malaysian soccer with a few people..Other than Rajagopal,among them was Dollah Salleh,Shukor Adan,one national team physio doctor and a few more national junior squad members..

During those days before leaving for Australia,I never missed a single match of the national team whenever I'm in Kuala Lumpur ..Last week,after long,I was in the stadium again,watching us fortunately beating Vietnam.. And today,together with the other 70,000 fans at least,we will sing 'Negaraku' loudly and proudly together again in the final..Let's make another winning history!

Win or lose,what ever it is against the Indonesians tonight,I just wanna see the fighting spirit and the eagerness to play football..Bukit Jalil, here comes 80 people from Dan Dan FC and WakDan FC clans!!!!!Hopefully our banner will be ready in time..huhu..See you in the stadium~

Saya bukanlah peminat filem Melayu sangat..(Giler kerek statement nih..huhu)..Tapi memang gua tak suka tengok..sebab lembik sangat biasanya...Atau senang cerita,gua bukan hantu movie sangat laa..huhu..

But I can't help writing about this scary+hilarious movie...

Tajuk pun entah apa-apa..haha..Tapi saya recommend untuk semua penakut-penakut hantu se Malaysia..hahaha..

Last week,budak-budak ni ajak tengok wayang..Gua pun kira setuju jer lah..Tak tau citer apa..Datang pun lambat,movie dah start..Alih-alih tengok citer Melayu..huhu!! Panggung penuh beb! "Citer mende ni wei??" dalam kepala..

Pastu,start lepas gua duduk,sampai habisss,memang takleh blaaaaah citer ni...WAKAKA!!
Ni dah seminggu tengok,gua tetap tergelak lagi bila terpikir..Ni sambil tulis ni punnn aku dah tergelakkkk... Wakakakakakakaka!!!!
Siut tul laaaaaah citer ni...hahahahahahahah!!

Ala-ala Chow Sin Chee punya movie gak aah lawak dia.. Sori yaa,gua terpaksa puji movie ni... Memang character-character penakut hantu macam tu memang ramai ada di kalangan member-member gua...(kecuali aku laa tak takut hantu..ehem)

Thinking of bringing the kids pulak to watch it again after this..:-)..and thanks Apis & Farah Love,sebab lu org, tak pasal-pasal gua tengok citer niiii..haha!!Sorang muka macho,sorang muka garang,tapi dua2 penakut maut punyaaa..haha..dah tereffect kat gua sikit dalam wayang..ceit!!!Zubair,Paan,dan budak2 Dan Dan lain pun sama penakut...haha..

Super-Friendly Island!!!

I don't know how to start,or simply that I actually don't know what to write about this amazing place..I have never imagined that I will get anything from my recent trip to Bali apart from leisure and relaxation,but in fact,I found 'something'..

But first,let me tell you a bit about my little Bali adventure..:-)

As I didn't plan anything prior to this trip,and had little knowledge about Bali in my head,my first day in Bali started with some exciting uncertainties..The flight was half an hour ahead of schedule,which has forced Ngurah Rai Airport to welcome me as early as 8am in the morning..I can tell that I was the only Malaysian in the flight when everyone else went straight to the visa payment counter after arrival..As Malaysian,we don't need any visa to enter Indonesia..Eh,macam skema laa pulak ayat aku..huhu..

Anyway,to my surprise,I met my ex-classmate in CIC while waiting for the luggage..Eni rasanya nama dia..Segan lak sebab dia ingat nama gua..She's a Balinese..We chat for a while sampai keluar airport..Katanya dia balik Bali dari Perth seminggu sebab raya...Gua anggukkan aje,padahal blank,raya apekebendenya time-time gini..Dalam kepala pikir Maal Hijrah laa kut..Kebetulan that Tuesday was 1 Muharram..huhu..Malas nak kacau dia,I told her that I'm on transit,waiting for the next flight to KL..After she left,I stayed in the airport for another half an hour to figure out what should I do next..Beli teh Botol satu sebagai mukaddimah..:-)

My day then started with the journey to the hotel in the middle of Kuta,facing its beautiful Indian Ocean beach...Tapi,oleh sebab bilik will only be ready at 2pm,I have like,errr,almost 5 hours waiting time..Aduiiiiii!! Apa nak buat pun tak tau..huhu..So there you go,a possible spontaneous adventure will be likely to begin very soooon..:-)..5 jam oiiiii...Gua dah laa penat gila,tak tido semalaman..First idea,cari makan and get to know the surroundings..

Hmmm...malas aaah nak citer panjang-panjang..Ni bukannya travel blog..huhu..Let it be what happened in Bali,stays in Bali..ok?..Pendek cerita,selama 2 hari tu saya sewa scooter dan merempit sampai ke Nusa Dua, Jimbaran,malah sampai ke Sanur..It has brought back memories of my younger days..Zaman-zaman naik motor dulu..Free and easy..huhu..Tengok geng-geng Aussies merempit pun best..haha..Then masuk kampung orang, lepak umah diorg,borak-borak kat warung minum kopi kampung sampai pagi..I made friends with a few of them.. One of them pakcik ketua kampung..hehe..kelakar lak rasa..Orang-orang Bali masih mengekalkan budaya menghormati tetamu..Saya dilayan seolah-olah seperti anak sedara Mas Andi (my new friend) yang baru pulang dari oversea..:-)

What I can say,Bali is such an amazing place..I've been to so many places in the world,but Bali is definitely something extraordinary and different..Itupun gua belum cover semua..Ubud,Tanah Lot sume tak cukup masa nak pegi..Hmm,a good reason to go again huh..

Now I know why people from the whole planet come to Bali..:-)..It is suitable for everyone..Family ke,couple ke,nak pegi ngan member ramai2 ke,untuk yang suka happening-happening ke,yang romantic ke,yang surf ke, yang suka rilek tenang-tenang ke,yang adventurous ke,yang nak pegi sorang-sorang macam gua aritu pun suitable..Serius!

Aku pun pelik..Nak cakap  lawa,takde laa lawa sangat Bali ni..Banyak lagi tempat yang gua penah pegi jauh lagi cantik..Nak cakap happening,ada yang jauh lagi best..I believe there is something special about Bali and I've already felt it myself..Cara saya travel dengan cara anda travel mungkin berbeza..Citarasa juga mungkin berbeza..Apa yang anda alami di Bali mungkin berbeza dengan pengalaman saya..

Berbeza di tempat-tempat lain di Indonesia,negara lain atau Malaysia sendiri,kebaikan yang terpancar di Bali adalah ikhlas..Bukan semuanya berhambakan wang dan kebendaan walaupun ia tempat tourist..Mungkin kerana masyarakat mereka masih kuat berpegang pada adat dan agama..I also felt safe everywhere I go..

Believe me or not,in Bali,other than the enjoyment of its nightlife,shows,shoppings,and the relaxation of its spa treatment,dinner by the beach or its beautiful sunset,I found something more precious..Mungkin ianya hanya secara kebetulan, tetapi saya menemui ciri-ciri indah seseorang manusia di Bali melalui orang-orang yang saya kenali di sana..Sifat-sifat yang pernah saya rasa hilang pada orang-orang di sekeliling saya..I finally restored my faith that real honesty,humbleness,and respect still exist in this world..:-)..

I will definitely go again and again and again and again to this beautiful Super-Friendly Island!!!
 
p/s: It happened that the 'raya' my ex-classmate was talking about is actually a celebration for Hindus in Bali, called Hari Raya Galungan & Kuningan,celebrated twice a year..

Alhamdulillah,akhirnya adinda saya,Ee telah selamat melangsungkan pertunangannya tempohari..I am sooo happy for him and the family..:-D...From what I know,dia dan my sister in-law-to-be,Zeti had been friends for like 9 years..Ni laa orang kata 'pyaar dosti hai' kut,huhu,which means 'love is friends'..

I came back early to Malaysia this time semata-mata untuk majlis ini..So now,everything has gone smoothly,hanya tunggu majlis sebenar which might be held on May or July next year..lagi cepat lagi bagus..Boleh aku balik selalu..haha!

I know I am not veryyy close to him,tapi kasih sayang saya tidak berbelah bagi..Walaupun gua ni nampak rock dan rempit sikit..wakaka..Saya ni memang jenis yang tak pandai menunjukkan isi hati dan kasih sayang secara terangan..cey cey...haha..But when I love someone,it is always pure and true..And Ee,sepanjang bertahun-tahun saya tiada di Malaysia,he's my only hope,together with Kak Ngah,to take care of Mama n Bah most of the time..Which I will always appreciate for the rest of my life!:-)..For that,I really wanna wish him all the best,may he be granted with years full of happiness and keberkatan dengan orang yang disayangi dunia dan akhirat..Welcome to the family Zeti! (Walaupun gua pun tak kenal lagi..cakap pun tak penah..hehe)..

Cuma gua pulak,4 hari balik demam laa pulak..Tapi oleh sebab saya mengamalkan Hikmat Penyatupaduan Sel Pendekar Laut peringkat ke-18,alhamdulillah tak teruk sangat,and recovering really well..Thanks to Uji,Bobo dan Ee bwk saya ke klinik pagi-pagi buta pukul 2am aritu!Mungkin demam Bali kut..huhu..

Rainbow Marriage

When I wrote 'The Inception of Malaysia' article for our Merdeka celebration this year, I told you guys about Khadafi's idea about inter-racial marriage,and Fiza gave an idea of an ideal 1Malaysia family in her comment.. In fact, I used to hold this idea long time ago,not just in-terms of mixed-race point of view,but also international integration at one point..hehe..*over lak aku.. but not anymore though.. And last week, Ustaz Asri Zainal Abidin, bekas Mufti Perlis wrote about the same thing in his blog Minda Tajdid..

GALAKKAN PERKAHWINAN CAMPUR UNTUK KEHARMONIAN KAUM

Kahwin boleh menjadi salah satu faktor mendekatkan hubungan antara dua pihak, bahkan antara kaum. Dalam sejarah bukan sedikit perkahwinan telah menjadi faktor perdamaian dan interaksi harmoni antara budaya dan kaum. ‘Kahwin campur’ ataupun kahwin rentas kaum adalah kahwin antara pasangan yang berbeza kaum, seperti kahwin antara melayu dengan cina, atau melayu dengan india atau selainnya. Dalam konteks negara seperti Malaysia, saya berpendapat kita amat wajar menggalakkan perkahwinan yang seperti ini. Ini kerana ia boleh mendekatkan antara kaum dalam negara ini. Namun, perkahwinan tersebut perlu memastikan nilai-nilai yang berikut;

1. Bagi muslim, hendaklah dipastikan keislamannya terpelihara. Bahkan dia wajar menunjukkan contoh pegangan dan akhlak yang baik kepada pasangannya. Sikap dan teladan yang buruk akan menyebabkan salahfaham terhadap Islam.

2. Perkahwinan antara kaum hendaklah tidak bersifat menghapuskan budaya dan nilai positif yang dimiliki oleh sesuatu kaum. Setiap pasangan berhak mengekalkan budaya dan adat resam kaumnya yang baik. Hendaklah setiap pasangan meraikan warisan dan budaya pasangannya yang tidak bertentangan dengan prinsip-prinsip yang dipegang. Memaksa seorang cina menjadi ‘melayu’ atau melayu menjadi ‘cina’ selepas perkahwinan adalah tindakan yang salah dan tidak membawa keharmonian kaum.

3. Perkahwinan antara kaum patut dijadikan kesempatan memahami dan mempelajari nilai-nilai mulia yang dimiliki oleh setiap kaum bukan menghapuskan identiti kaum. Dengan itu, setiap kaum akan hormati dan cuba memahami kelebihan dan kekurangan yang dimiliki lantas melaksanakan apa yang Allah firman: (maksudnya):

Wahai manusia! Sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan kamu dari lelaki dan perempuan, dan Kami telah menjadikan kamu berbagai bangsa dan bersuku puak, supaya kamu berkenal-kenalan. Sesungguhnya semulia-mulia kamu di sisi Allah ialah orang yang paling bertaqwa di antara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui, lagi Maha mendalam pengetahuanNya. (Surah al-Hujurat: 13).

4. Fahaman agama yang sempit seperti menghalang pasangan yang menganut Islam berhubung dan berbuat baik kepada keluarga asalnya, menziarahi mereka atau menafikan nama keluarga seperti menukar nama ‘bapa’ adalah sesuatu yang tidak diajar oleh Islam. Bahkan nas-nas Islam menyanggahi hal tersebut. Ia adalah ‘kesempitan pemikiran setempat’ yang patut digugurkan dari masyarakat kita. Ia antara penghalang keharmonian kaum dan agama.

5. Perkahwinan campur hendaklah bebas dari anggapan bahawa sesuatu kaum lebih mulia dari kaum yang lain hanya atas faktor keturunan semata. Sabda Nabi s.a.w

“Wahai manusia! Sesungguhnya tuhan kamu sama, bapa kamu sama (Adam). Ketahuilah! Tiada kelebihan orang arab ke atas ‘ajam (yang bukan arab), atau ‘ajam ke atas arab, atau yang berkulit merah ke atas yang berkulit hitam, atau yang berkulit hitam ke atas yang berkulit merah melainkan ketakwaan” (Riwayat Ahmad dan al-Baihaqi, dinilai hasan oleh al-Albani).

Maka, tidak boleh ada dalam perkahwinan campur itu pemaksaan budaya sesuatu kaum terhadap kaum yang lain.

Jika hal-hal ini dihayati, perkahwinan campur boleh membantu mengeratkan hubungan antara kaum. Justeru itu, kita patut menggalakkan ia berlaku. Golongan berpengaruh dan kerajaan hendaklah menggalakkan hal ini. Bahkan insentif tertentu patut diberikan kepada pasangan yang ingin berkahwin rentas kaum seperti ini.

Interesting idea huh..Tapi bukan senang..Jangan cakap persefahaman kaum,kadang-kadang sama bangsa pun susah..Entah ler..Actually I am quite scared to talk about relationship..It is still a mystery subject to be explored for me..A subject that I will never understand perhaps..huhu..Love is still kinda mystery..apatah lagi honesty in a relationship..:-).. Apapun,yang baik itu datangnya dari Allah,yang buruk itu datangnya dari kelemahan diri saya/kita sendiri..Wallahualam..

Patutnya sekarang ni musim summer,tapi tak tau lah kenapa Adelaide ni hujan dan sejuk sokmo.. Haritu dah panas dah sekejap..Hot and nice..Errr,am talking about the weather here,not the girls..heeeeeee..;-p

Usually,I will only go back to Malaysia either late of December/early January,but this time it has to be as soon as possible (that's what Kak Long said..because we gonna have an occassion).. So I have to make a plan..

And the plan is.......BALI.....hehe..tak pasal-pasal!

Orang kata,kita kalau nak buat apa-apa,biar benda yang berfaedah...Mesti ada sebab musabab dan alasan-alasan yang konkrit dan relevan..Oleh sebab itu,jangan ingat kunjungan ke Bali kali ni saja-saja jer yaa..heheh!

Jadi,alasan Ahmad Albab yang pertama adalah,kerna ongkos nya murah pak!Nak balik KL mengikut harga early December,(Adelaide-KL AUD$981, Adelaide-Melbourne-KL $800, Adelaide-Perth-KL $700, Adelaide-Perth-Bali-KL $430).. I believe you are smart enough to figure which one yang nampak best.. wakaka..Maka nampak gaya, dengan rendah dirinya saya terpaksa laa memilih route yang ada perkataan Bali di situ..huhu..

Second,kerana ibu saya,ibu Fathilah ibaratnya seperti bagi greenlight..Atas alasan membeli barang-barang hantaran pertunangan adik saya,Mas Fakhrul..heheh! Apa yang ada di Bali pun gue nggak tau dong! Beli patung muka wak misai kang baru tau..huhu..Tapi saya ikut sajalah kata-kata ibu gitu..

And thirdly,it's because I've never been to Bali.. Julia Robert pernah ajak aritu,tapi gua busy.. So kali ni nampaknya captain Hans Solo akan membuat gerakan secara solo.. Gua belasah jer ni pergi,malas pikir or plan apa-apa sangat..Beli tiket kapal terbang,ada cash sikit,jalannnnnnnnnn...Apa jadi kat sana jadilah.. My first spontaneous trip for this holiday! Yeay..

Jadi,kalau nampak Agnes Monica ngan jejaka Malaya next week jalan-jalan tepi pantai Kuta,hmmm..lu tau-tau laa sapa..Tak pun maybe yang pi jalan ngan Ketut Liyer...wakaka!Adios..Happy holidays everyone!:-)

Tadi time usha usha twitter,tengok Abang Izham tweet pasal P.Ramlee..Dia baru tengok dokumentari yang gua cakap aritu, "Broke n Broken P.Ramlee"..Kalau dia yang talented and successful pun boleh nangis tengok,gua tak tau nak cakap apa laa..He should know better than me because he's a big player in the entertainment industry nowadays..He produced a lot of big shots in our local music scene..Then he talked about the importance of balancing the creativity and the commercial sides of it,before ending his tweet saying he's gonna play one P.Ramlee's song as a tribute with his piano at home..Sweeeeet huh..

Anyway,the summer is about to arrive here in Adelaide..Pukul lapan setengah baru gelap..I still have another paper next Friday..Kepala dah tepu,penuh dengan numbers and figures..So,writing is exactly what I need now to clear some of it..huhu..

I hate summer..Everything usually goes wrong during summers..For the past four consecutive years,every bad things you can ever imagine happened..I don't know why..So hopefully will turn out fine this time around cause I don't involve myself with anything right now..Not even friends..This year is one whole new experience for me..I know I am not being myself for the time being..Alamak,dah macam diary lak..huhu..Stop!Cukup setakat itu..Mari kita rock balik..hehe..

An Islamic Australia?

I have been wanting to write about this since long ago..Even after my first few years living in Australia..It's about my observation on the Australian way of life and the comparison between theirs,and our own Islamic way..

Just for background- Australia is considered as a secular country..Even though there are still some arguments on that matters..Because some of their laws (abortion law,homosexual rights etc..) are still very much influenced by a strong religious context..Malaysia on the other hand, is neither secular nor Islamic country per se.. But we try to build it on a strong Islamic basis which is the official religion of the country as stated in the Constitution.. Anyway,I am not going to drag this into any further arguments or discussions.. In the context of this article,I'm considering Malaysia as a country that is going to be developed as an example of a Muslim nation..

Cleanliness

"Kebersihan adalah sebahagian daripada iman"- Australia might not be the cleanest of all,but still they are one of the best for me..Pergilah ke mana-mana,not just in the city, kebanyakan tempat yang digunakan oleh public,sangat bersih..Public parks,the beaches,any tourist spots, toilets,restaurants etc..Australians are very sensitive towards their environment..Yes,of course there are few polluted places,especially the rivers,but it is not too obvious in the public's eye..Ok,they might have some high-tech equipments and or man power to do all the clean ups in the cities,but it's not an excuse..Kita pun ada kat Malaysia,tak bersih jugak.. Here,even if there is no prohibitive fines untuk jaga kebersihan pun,saya rasa masyarakatnya tetap akan jaga kebersihan.. Maksudnya, kebersihan ini bukan lahir kesan daripada undang-undang atau authorities semata-mata (i.e- Singapore), tetapi ia lahir daripada kesedaran masyarakatnya sendiri..So I think,it is very Islamic in a way..

Honesty

Honesty is one of the most important elements in our Islamic teaching..The first important issue related to this is corruption..Australia ni bukannya takde corruption langsung,but I reckon the level is very low..Susah nak tengok depan mata..Polis ke,immigration ke,local councils ke etc..They are very honest with their duties.. Yup,it might be because they are in a high-income society,but it doesn't matter..Islam has taught us to be honest in what ever condition..Okay,that is a brief impression about corruption..Let us go into smaller issues.. Let say you left something behind (handphones,wallet etc..) somewhere..Kalau di Malaysia, orang kata jangan harap laa nak dapat balik..Sekejap jer tinggal,memang lesap..Di sini, (I've experienced it myself), boleh kata the chances to get back your belongings is still very high..Kalau hilang pun,most probably kena ambik oleh Asians..huhu..It's very secure here..

Masyarakat sini,mostly,dididik tidak ambil sesuatu yang bukan kepunyaan mereka..Ok,lagi satu example, in transportation..In some places (in my experience -Perth & Melbourne), sebenarnya kalau naik train,or tram, takyah bayar pun takpe,jangan kantoi sudah..Tapi masyarakatnya tetap bayar and abide the system..Jujur sejujurnya..I don't think this kind of system can be implemented in Malaysia yet..All these are only few examples of honesty,ada banyak lagi..So,in this case,I think it is very relevant to our Islamic way..Right?

Attitude

In our daily life here,it is very common for people to greet each other,even to strangers.. 'Good day','Have a good one','How are you',etc..and my favourite, 'Thank you'..Kadang-kadang siap berlawan cakap thank you..huhu..And it came naturally,with smiles on their faces,bukan pretend..Bukan yang macam kedai 7-Eleven kat Malaysia tu..Kita di Malaysia kadang-kadang nak bagi salam or even senyum pun susah..Lagi satu, driving attitude..I am totally amazed with it..I don't think I have to describe it here..They follow rules most of the time,in every aspects..They have somekind of Australian Standards in their life..All these positive attitude sudah sememangnya digalakkan dalam agama kita..Tak begitu?

Status

I believe here,everyone is treated equally..Kaya ke,miskin ke..The status culture is not that sickening.. Australian won't treat you like a servant,or a low class citizen,just because you are nobody or something.. They treat you nicely with respect..I give you one example..I used to work in a restaurant as a part-time job..There were times when some VIPs from Malaysia came to eat,they treat you like their maid at home..or macha kat kedai mamak..No respect at all..Sibuk dengan status Dato',Tan Sri,Tengku semua tu.. I've never experienced that with Australian customers..Susah nak jumpa orang-orang putih kaya yang sombong dan berlagak..

Contoh lain,di kedai-kedai..You can easily browse around in any shop as you like and no one will judge you..Masuklaa kedai branded ke apa,they'll treat you with respect..Cuba try masuk kedai LV ke,Polo ke kat Malaysia tengok!Confirm pandang atas bawah..The people here don't really care about your status in the society..They don't care what car you drive,what you wear,who is your family or what job you do for living..Islam taught us that every human are the same..Yang membezakan kita adalah taqwa..Bukankah masa berihram di Mekah mengajar kita semua manusia adalah sama di sisi-Nya?

Welfare

Lastly,I would like to touch on this issue..Pada zaman khalifah Harun al-Rashid,dikatakan bahawa pada zaman itu,kerajaan Islam yang diperintahnya berada di dalam keadaan yang sangat makmur,sehingga tiada orang pun yang layak menerima zakat..Realitinya di Australia,agak susah sebenarnya kalau kita mahu melihat orang-orang miskin di sini, melainkan kita betul-betul cari..Tapi susah jugak laa,because the government really take care of the welfare of those people..Students,golongan penganggur,and especially the indigenous people..Money might be the biggest issue here,sebab diorg memang banyak duit..Negara besar,banyak resources,population kecil..Kita belum sampai tahap itu lagi.. Insyallah mudah-mudahan satu hari nanti.. Sekarang tak boleh lagi,nanti manja sangat orang-orang kita,semua malas bekerja,harap duit dari government..

Secara kesimpulan,mungkin ciri-ciri ini bagi mereka tak kena-mengena dengan agama,tapi ini adalah ciri-ciri penting yang perlu ada pada sesebuah masyarakat yang maju..It's not my intention untuk puji mereka berlebihan,because they are not perfect.. They have some weaknesses too.. However,in order for Malaysia to rebuild a model of an Islamic Civilisation,kita perlu ada ciri-ciri ini..Yang baik kita ikut,yang buruk kita tolak tepi..Bukan Australia sahaja..Banyak negara lain lagi..Jepun,yang majoriti rakyatnya tidak beragama,juga boleh dicontohi sikap dan budayanya.. There are only 10,000 Muslims in Japan..While Aussies are more laid back,Japanese are more hardworking.. But both produce high quality in their work..China is not a bad country either in terms of their work culture..

Kita perlu menjadi negara Islam contoh..Maju,bertamadun,with multi-cultural society..The truth is,tidak ada mana-mana negara Islam yang mempunyai ciri-ciri seperti di atas..Arab Saudi,Bahrain, Indonesia etc, kebersihannya tidak memuaskan hati kalau kita pergi..Masih fikir status..Attitude masih lagi kasar..Egypt, Sudan,Pakistan masih lagi rasuah..Semua nak kena bagi tips baru buat kerja..Walaupun 70-99% penduduk beragama Islam..Ada negara,duit banyak,pemimpin dan keluarga mereka hidup dengan kereta bersadur emas,enjoy sini sana,hidup mereka mewah sementara rakyat masih ada yang daif..

I'm not here to criticize..Malaysia is not that bad,but there are a lot of things that can still be improved for sure..I just think we should really be an example of a developed Muslim nation in every aspects by 2020:-)..God willing,we will be able to create law abiding citizens with high morale value,parallel with other developments.. Insyallah..

After long,it is very satisfying to watch the boys played with their hearts out..I can see the determinations, the fighting spirits and high commitment on the field..We are getting there boys!! Just a few more quality players to be added,then I think we are ready to rumble..We need one defensive minded central midfielder with passing quality,one calm central defender with good aerial ability or one good left attacking fullback, and one good forward..Tiga-tiga ni kena world class,takleh yang average dah macam zaman Rafa..

January is coming very soon.. The scouting has to be done as early as possible.. I mean NOW!!!

Warisan Merdeka

Dalam seminggu dua ni,topik yang paling banyak sekali dibincangkan dengan member-member adalah tentang Warisan Merdeka..Tak kira kat mana,atau ngan sapa-sapa..Some of my friends from Malaysia and Perth messaged me on BBM and YM to discuss about it..It also became a hot topic among friends here in Adelaide..Other than Lau Pan,Khadafi as my usual 'think-thank' group here,I was quite surprise when even people like Sheena and Hajar who are very young,also showed some interests in it..(I miss Sadesh when it comes to arguements..huhu)..

So this is what I think...Of course I am no one and not an important person,but this is my opinion..Dalam bahasa yang mudah,not too academical,dalam bahasa rakyat biasa..Bukan nak cerita dari segi growth projections ke,office space surplus,possible demands,bubbling economics etc..Yang tu semua PNB and Government,or the experts punya kerja laa..They should make their study..or you can do some research..

In my previous post,Bajet Handsome not long after it was unveiled,I've already stated my full support on it..I don't understand what's the 'hoo-haa' is all about,but I do understand people's concern on it..Which is good.. Yes,5 Billion is a lot of money..But it is for DEVELOPMENT people!!..Jangan kata duit PNB,kalau pakai duit kerajaan pun gua akan sokong..It's for Kuala Lumpur,her image and future..

Of course I would like to see my own country to have some high-class buildings and better environment.. Itulah yang saya rasa setiap kali ke luar negara..Waktu berumur 10 tahun,saya berkesempatan ke Sears Tower (sekarang Willis Tower),di Chicago,bangunan tertinggi di dunia ketika itu..On top of the building,dalam kepala sebagai seorang budak darjah 4 time tu,saya dah terfikir,"Why didn't we have one like this?"..And you know,exactly 9 years after that,Petronas Twin Tower surpassed it as the tallest building in the world..Who would have thought of that??Dalam banyak-banyak negara,kita pulak..After 24 years of Sears Tower being there..No one thought it was possible for Malaysia..

I am not keen on the idea of being the tallest,the biggest,the longest or what so ever..But I am into high-class developments and clean environment..Wouldn't it be nice if we can have a lot of good things in our own backyards..In Europe,they made buildings that can be used for hundred years,well maintained,some with amazing artistic value..In Australia,they are very much into green developments..In Shanghai,Hong Kong, Japan,Singapore,they have skycrapers and crowded,but clean..Kat US,macam-macam jenis building lagi.. Things like this kita kena belajar,dan bawak balik..Develope it in our own style..

I always have discussions with Hadry about buildings, landscaping,streetscaping,heritage conservation,sustainability and such..The main problem is usually about money..Idea banyak, tapi tiada peruntukan..Akhirnya,banyak pembangunan dibuat secara ala kadar..In terms of design,implementation dan sebagainya..So nampak gaya kali ni,these people have money for this Warisan Merdeka project..Buatlah yang terbaik..They have good track records,let us give them a chance..

What we can do as a normal citizen is to keep on reminding them..To make sure they have a proper planning,first-rate management,strict control, and try to minimize the risks..Risks will always be there..But those who never dare to take a risk,will never achieve success remember?..

Keep on giving good arguments,don't just simply support or objecting things blindly..Give them feedbacks..This article 'Sky high risk in Malaysia' is one good example by Anil Netto..

Apapun,untuk menjamin kejayaan negara,bukan bersandarkan pada pembinaan menara..Ia hanyalah sekadar satu usaha dalam bentuk fizikal untuk membawa kita ke hadapan,satu idea..Yang lebih penting adalah kestabilan politik,perpaduan antara kaum,perubahan minda dan budaya masyarakat dan tiada rasuah..Yang ini takyah tunggu Government,PNB or sapa-sapa..Kita yang kena buat..Takde yang ni,jangan cakap menara,nak buat rumah kos rendah pun belum tentu..

Kalau dari segi politik saya membesar bersama Mahathir,tapi dari awal kehidupan kanak-kanak,saya membesar dengan karya P.Ramlee..Begitu juga dengan ahli keluarga yang lain..


Orang seperti P.Ramlee tidak ramai..I am not talking about his talent..I am talking about him as a human,his thinking and attitude..In his field,I can say that he is like Mahathir,like Tun Razak in politics..Fikiran dan idea mereka,jauhhhh melampaui zaman..Fullllll of visions..And the best thing is,each of them is blessed with one important quality..HUMBLE..tidak ramai manusia yang sebegini..No matter how great you are,being humble will definitely put you on a different level..

Some of my family members became emo after watching the biography..Sedih,marah,frustrated dan macam-macam lagi..Sedih dengan apa yang berlaku pada beliau di akhir hayat,marah dengan sikap tikam belakang kawan-kawan beliau,frustrated dengan kegagalan orang negara sendiri menghargai beliau..Yes..I felt the same way too..Pity us..Pity us for letting it happened to him..For letting him to be 'broke and broken'..

P.Ramlee..hidup dan karyanya mengajar banyak benda..Sifat melayu sesama bangsa,sifat masyarakat berbilang bangsa,loyal dalam kasih sayang,tiadanya perbezaan dalam darjat manusia,sabar dalam kesusahan,tidak sombong ketika dipuja,berkawan tanpa kepentingan,dan sebagainya..

Tertarik dengan kata-kata beliau tentang pentingnya memasukkan sifat dan elemen kemelayuan dalam jiwa generasi muda,ketika jiwa mereka masih kosong,jika tidak,jiwa-jiwa ini akan menerima pengaruh-pengaruh luaran..If he can see it long time ago,why not us??..

Overall,it is simply a great documentary..Well-recommended to everyone..Banyak benda yang kita boleh ambil..Sifat-sifat seperti pemurah,ikhlas, honest,sabar,loyal and such..Not just from him,but some of his friends also,tak kira bangsa..But of course,ada jugak benda yang kita jangan ambil..Mengorat bini orang adalah salah satu no-no okayyy.. No matter how you want to justify it..Ambil yang jernih sahaja ya.. Hmm,orang-orang yang kecoh pasal Festival Filem baru-baru ni pun kena tengok dokumentari nih..Apa ke bangang dengki mendengki tak habis-habis..

Pray for Indonesia

No more assignments,no more things to do,except for waiting for the exams to come..I'm taking a few days off before starting my revisions for the upcoming finals..

Banyak perkara berlaku akhir-akhir ini..Antara yang paling menyedihkan adalah tsunami di Mentawai, dan juga letusan gunung Merapi di Indonesia..Ternyata,kita tidak mampu melawan kuasa yang Maha Besar..Secara tidak langsung,kita diheret mengenang apa yang berlaku di Acheh,few years back...Al-Fatihah..:-(

Kali ini,saya tidak mahu mengkritik..Dan bukan juga mahu mendabik dada..Cuma ada beberapa perkara menarik yang saya rasa patut kita renungkan..Kita bersyukur perkara-perkara seperti ini tidak terjadi di negara kita..We are blessed..dan untuk itu,kita wajib bersyukur..

Bukan mahu mengungkit,tapi cuba renungkan..Samada rakyat Malaysia,atau Indonesia sendiri..Teringat tidak berapa lama dahulu,dan masih berterusan sampai sekarang,tentang beberapa perkara yang memanaskan hubungan antara Malaysia dan Indonesia..Bendera kita dipijak,rakyat kita mahu dihalau,kedutaan kita dilempar najis..Sweeping Malaysia,Ganyang Malaysia..Kita terasa..Sama seperti terasanya rakyat mereka..Cuma bezanya,kita tidak membalas..Which is a good thing..Biarpun ada yang mengatakan kita lemah,tapi kita sebenarnya kuat apabila bersikap lebih matang..

Hari ini,kita melawan slogan 'Sweeping Malaysia','Ganyang Malaysia',dengan slogan 'Pray for Indonesia'.. Kita lawan dengan menghantar pasukan perubatan,bekalan makanan dan sebagainya..Kita berkongsi kesedihan..We don't care about those provocation anymore..Apa yang penting,kita bantu mereka yang dalam kesusahan..Bergaduh tidak akan membawa kita ke mana-mana..Insyallah,kalau kita ikhlas membantu,tiada istilah ganyang mengganyang lagi satu hari nanti..Sampai satu hari semua orang sedar apa yang berlaku, hanyalah salah faham..Sampai satu hari kita faham bahawa blaming anyone would not solve any problem..

Sejak kecil,saya diajar oleh keluarga untuk tidak membalas keburukan dengan keburukan..Biar orang buat jahat dengan kita,jangan kita buat orang..Prinsip ini,mungkin buat kita nampak lemah,dan senang dipijak kepala..Tapi pada hakikatnya,prinsip ini mengajar kita erti kekuatan..Bukan menjadi hak kita untuk menghukum sesama manusia..Semua orang melakukan kesilapan,termasuk kita..Apa yang penting,kita sentiasa memberi peluang untuk seseorang memperbaiki diri..Salah faham tidak perlu hingga membawa kepada kehancuran sebuah perhubungan..

Jadi,inilah peluang kita..peluang kedua-dua pihak..I hope after this,no more Ganyang or what so ever...

And for that...let us all together,PRAY FOR INDONESIA~

Just talked to Mama..and I'm just tooooooo happyyyyyyyyy...Takleh nak describe...Can't wait...Started early today with handing my two bapak major assignment,after two weeks of being a walking zombie..and after that received a very gooooooooooood news from Malaysia..It's has been a longgggg due thing....enough said..

Harini aku nak tulis pasal feeling..lantak laaaa...Mcm blog pompuan pun takpe...huhu...I want this to happen as soon as we can..not just me I guess..semua orang kut...I am gonna cancel all my travel plans this coming holiday..Kalau pegi pun,yang dekat-dekat jer..Cause I can feel the happiness in Mama's voice just now,and I can feel the same vibes from Bah jugak,walaupun tak bercakap tadi...:-)..That's all yang paling penting dalam hidup saya...and obviously, kebahagiaan tuan punya badan..

Harap-harap tunggu lah saya balik nanti yaaa,then everyone in the family shall share this happiness together..

Traveler's Travel

Lama-lama blog ni dah jadi macam blog politik laa pulakkk..Tak nakkkkk...

Nak tulis puisi kang kene gelak pulak..huhu..

I'm thinking of putting some stories about my travel experience around the world..Tapi banyak gambar semua dalam laptop lama yang dah tak boleh on,ataupun tersimpan kat laci rumah Kuantan..Brrrrr..I just love travelling..I love backpacking..I would love to go to some place without planning..Just spontaneous act..I did it a few times..This year,thinking of going to somewhere I've never been..Maybe Stockholm or Beirut..or maybe Romania..or maybe Slovakia to visit some old friend..Kenya pun ok,but not this time perhaps..Haha, sedapnya aku berangan..but we'll see..Nothing is impossible..Tengok duit dulu camne..Sementara tengah single ni..Kang payah pulak..

So now,time to start planning..One annual family vacation,and one for myself,or with friends..A Swedish girl that I met in Sydney said there's a lot of Muslims in the country..Even her ex-boyfriend was a Muslim,tapi dia,mak aiiiiiiiiii..Nyaris menyebabkan gua jadi Pak Maun aritu...huhu..Nasib baik masih ada iman senipis kulit bawang ini di lubuk hati ini...wakaka..

So,maybe it's time to go and have a look!..Nak tengok betul ke tidakkk..ngehehe..
For a start,there is 20% population of Muslims in Stockholm,and 25% in Malmo..Not bad huh..

 Owh yaaa..Let me share with you my own experience that happen almost everytime,everywhere when I go travel.. People will usually ask you where you from and stuffs...I am not making stories and I am not kidding you,but almost everytime when I answered that I came from Malaysia,the first thing that will definitely be automatic coming from them will be, "Malaysia?..Mahathir??"...especially from those who interested in Muslim world....and I will definitely be proud to answer.."Yess"..:-)..

Not trying to be bias here,but that's the reality people!...in my own experience.. LA,Madrid,Melbourne, London ke,..tak kisah laa mana-mana..Macam-macam jenis orang,with different backgrounds..It was soo much different if you travel abroad 10-15 years ago..Kalau kita cakap datang dari Malaysia,dia pulak tanya kita balik,"where is it?..err,is it near Singapore??"...panassss jerr rasa..Especially in the US..They had noo idea at all...But thank God it has changed nowadays...Last few years,I asked a few Hispanic guys in LA,somewhere near Venice Beach,if they know about us..Diorang siap cakap,"Owhhh,Malaysiaaa..Truly Asiaaa.."..dengan pelat-pelat Mexicano lagiii..heheheh..kira ok laaa tu...tak ler malu sangat dahh..haha..

Hmm..ni satu lagi cerita..Kat Hong Kong,ada orang local ni,mula-mula elok jer layan cakap omputih..Sekali dia tanya,datang dari mana?...Bila gua cakap gua dari Malaysia,alih-alih terussssss jer dia cakap Cina..haha!She thought that Malaysian should be able to speak Chinese..Errr..at first it felt funny when she said that,but somehow,it makes you wonder..(*thinking..haa...dah mula nak politik balikk..huhu..)
