All You Need Is Doves

Ingatkan banyak masa nak menulis cuti ni..Sekali busy laa pulakkk..huhu..brrrrr~

Two of my childhood friends came over to visit me in Aussie..Lama takde orang melawat gua kat Oz,so best gak aah kali ni..Went fishing in Busselton..:-)..Also took that opportunity to pay a visit to my Perth familia.. Feel so good to meet them after long..Farra and Afzal cooked Salmon Curry baekkk punyerr...Semua orang nampak sihat,alhamdulilah..Cuma satu jer tak sempat, nak main bola untuk Dan Dan..I wanted to see all the new players..Ramai player baru tahun ni..

But anyway,I can see that DDFC is doing well and heading into the right path again..Football and friendship.. To be honest,I think my time to be directly involved with DDFC is over..I would love to see DDFC to carry on and achieve glory..It is more important for the club to grow with its current players..Let the new players enjoy the feeling being with Dan Dan,the culture and feel important..This year, the club has reach it's six years anniversary.. Bukan senang nak buat and carry on the legacy,as a club who doesn't have any financial source and proper management..It's all based on their own commitment, passion and vision..Kudos to these people, especially Mamat and Afzal for continuing the philosophy this year!

I would be proud if DDFC can go on for another few years..Dapat lepas 10 tahun dah kira ok laa gua rasa.. Maybe one day we can be a proper club in Western Australia Soccer League..Who knows kan?..If things go well,I wouldn't be surprised..I know that we can get financial support from the ministry if we have such club in overseas..It's already been discussed with our Sports Minister when he came down to Perth last year..Hmm, kita tengok lah nanti macam mana..Tak salah kalau kita ada long-term planning..:-)..Let me experience how they run a social football club here in Adelaide ni dulu..

Club yang gua main sekarang,Immanuel Doves, ada tiga team (1A Division,1B Division and 4th Division)..Semua sekali players ada dekat 65 orang..Ada few other clubs yang dah established more than 25 years ada 5-6 team, sebab overall there are 6 Divisions all together..All the clubs kena ada homeground sendiri..

Macam club gua ni,ada 9 orang committee,4 coaches and 15 orang pom-pom girlssss..haha...Pom-pom girls tu tipuuu jerr..Sebagai amateur club,I think the concept is very suitable to DDFC and WakDan..Most of my team mates are professionals dalam pekerjaan masing-masing..Engineers, architects, managers etc..Bukan calang-calang orang..Professional hackers pun ada..huhu!

Bulan Mac,dah keluar schedule sampai laa penghujung season bulan September..So mentally and physically, semua orang dah kena ready.. Ceyyy, gaya cakap macam aku ready sangat laaa konon nya..huhu!Tapi nak tak nak ketahanan body kene mantap laa...Every game confirm kena langgar punyaaa..Geng-geng Aussie ni tau main rempuhhh jerr..Mcm main footie!!Nasib baik aku belajar silat dulu..Selalunya sebelum diorg langgar, gua dah ready nak melayang dulu..huhu..Dapat free kick, and smart play...Bukannya dive pun..Cuma satu jer laa, telinga kena tahan maki laa..hehe~

So far,it has been a very good new experience for me..Being a captain for a mat saleh's club in Adelaide 1B Division has never ever came into my imagination before..In fact,I never thought that I would still play soccer.. I've lost the inspiration last year, and somehow this club has given me new motivation in it's own way..

Sebagai budak kampung, pengalaman ketika diumumkan sebagai captain dalam sebuah bar restaurant yang besar, dikelilingi oleh mat saleh ramai-ramai yang semuanya bertepuk sambil mengangkat gelas beer masing-masing (which is their tradition, jangan ingat gua minum gak) to congratulate me,adalah satu pengalaman yang 'kelakar',susah nak describe sini..haha~..Walaupun separuh daripada mereka muka agak terkejut, huhu, but everyone was supportive and showed their respects..Gua tak biasa mende-mende gini..But it is definitely priceless..I even got personal texts and emails from 'otai-otai' in the team to wish me well till today..:-)..Hari tu time tengah bercuti kat Perth pun ada yang suruh gua balik awal..

Ooo yaa...lupa nak bagitau..Hampir semua orang dalam team ingat gua umur 25-26..huhu~..Tu yang best duk Oz ni,they never ask..hehe..Time coaches bagi speech, semua cakap we need a young man to lead laa, lead by example laa,new direction laa, bla..bla..bla..bla.. Aku buat diiiiiiaaaammm jer..haha~

Satu jer susah, nak kena cakap omputih sokmo dalam padang throughout the game..Half-time lak nak kena bagi motivation in English..Ntah diorg paham ke tak aku tak tau lerr..haha..Macam last week, nak marah keeper tangkap bola macam sial, sekali keluar ayat tahap sekolah rendah dengan spontan nya dari mulut aku..wakaka..Ingat dah Gerrard abis dahhh..hahaha.. Tak jadi aku nak marah...akhirnya menggelakkan diri sendiri dalam hati..kihkihkih..

Sekarang Aan,Pong and few others pun dah join,so senang sikit ler..ada geng..huhu~I also would like them to experience the same thing..To experience a totally different kind of mentality and attitude from what we Malaysian usually have in mind..To enjoy the sense of healthy competitiveness and tougher physical challenge..I am enjoying having them in the team..Omputih pun dah tak pandang rendah kat kita..

Somehow, all these has lifted my trust towards life/people again..If last year I was being devalued, ridiculed and despised by friends and those who I cared the most and were closed to my heart, this year, things turned out that all the appreciations and acknowledgments came from total strangers..Pelik kan?hehe..but that's LIFE~

Let me learn from all this, and hopefully it can only be good for future developments of DDFC,Wakdan, or sapa-sapa lah..hehe..I also want to involve in grassroots football development in Pahang nanti..Apa yang baik kita share share ya..No worries~

Perth Waterfront Development

Perth will always be my favourite city..:-)..This is why-Kampung Perth~..huhu..

Read the article below..This is what I mean whenever we talk about development..Just wondering if this project happen to be in Malaysia, mesti ada kutu-kutu buat facebook group-'Satu juta rakyat menentang mega projek'-agaknya..huhu..Di Kuantan, ada cadangan nak buat waterfront project jugak last two years, but ended up with some strong objections by the locals, and the state government gave in..Sigh..Bila laa negeri aku nak cantik dan maju sikit.. Semuanya sebab politik dan campur tangan raja..

Yes,I know that education, health services, transportation system, etc are very important, like how people said in their Warisan Merdeka arguments (for the backgrounds, look here -http://myotadura.blogspot.com/2010/11/warisan-merdeka.html), but we simply cannot deny the significant of commercial landmark projects..Perth pun kalau diikutkan sebenarnya agak slow dari segi pembangunan, tapi sejak Labor Party pegang both Federal and State government, everything seems so good..

Can't wait to see how Perth's gonna be in few years time..Cable cars to Kings Park?..Imagine that..Jangan Abo jer banyak naik sudah..Gua pantang dengar abo abo nih..huhu!.. Sayang, stadium jer tak jadi buat sebab tak dapat jadi host World Cup 2018/22..

Anyway,I fully supported this project Julia!(..macam rakyat Aussie lak aku..huhu..)..Enjoy reading!

City waterfront plans revealed

GARETH PARKER, The West Australian February 15, 2011, 9:15 am
The State Government has released detailed plans for the Waterfront development in front of the city on the Esplanade foreshore. Premier Colin Barnett announced Cabinet has approved $270 million funding for the project, money that will begin to flow from the May state budget.

Detailed design plans for the much anticipated redevelopment of Perth Waterfront were released this morning.
The construction timeframe is a tight 30 months, with total development costs to the Government of $440 million.

The Government, which will not develop the commercial buildings but sell lots to the private sector, expects to recoup about $170 million in land sales, leaving a net project cost to taxpayers of $270 million.
While images released today include provision for a cable car to Kings Park and an indigenous cultural centre, those projects are not included in the $270 million project cost.

A cable car project would likely be developed by a private operator, while Mr Barnett promised an indigenous cultural centre “of national significance” would be a second-term project if the Government was re-elected.

“I would like to reassure the people of Perth – there has been a lot of talking, a lot of designs and discussion over the Perth waterfront for at least the last 30 years. The project now is formally underway," he said.

“Preparation of the site will begin immediately after the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October this year which will pave the way for major earthworks for the exciting redevelopment of Perth Waterfront in early 2012,” he said.

“This is a significant milestone for the project and a tangible step towards its delivery.“The new waterfront will ensure Perth remains a contemporary, liveable and globally competitive city.”The State Cabinet decision follows the completion of Phase Two planning, design and site investigation works for the project, undertaken by the Department of Planning.

Planning Minister John Day was pleased to release details and design features of the project.“Our priority is to focus on delivering the fundamental infrastructure on which these amazing buildings will be constructed, including the inlet, the parks and public spaces, and the roads and services,” Mr Day said.

“The ‘Waterfront Promenade’ is the main feature of the project. It covers 1.5 hectares and links up with ‘The Island’.

“‘The Island’ is designed to be a relaxed place for children and adults and is connected to the ‘Waterfront Promenade’ by a sculptural pedestrian and cycle bridge.

“Station Park is the gateway to the new waterfront. The park will be filled with trees and native plants and includes a water feature.

“Cafes, bars and restaurants will open out to the waterfront from surrounding buildings. People will have access to the water from The Landing on the northern edge of the inlet or the ‘The Jetty’ with short term mooring.

“The Indigenous Cultural Centre will be situated over the water at the southern end of William Street and is planned to be a nationally significant centre for indigenous culture, art and learning. The timing and budget for this will be set as the major construction of the waterfront nears completion.

“Once completed, Perth Waterfront will be an exciting new city destination with direct and uninterrupted connection to the Swan River.”The waterfront project will reflect more closely the Swan River’s original shoreline.

p/s: So hopefully Hadry ke Piju ke,sapa-sapa boleh fight balik dengan projek-projek kat Kuantan tu..Tunjuk ni kat MB..Jangan enjoy jer keje..haha!Final thesis punya architecture projek pun dah gempak aritu..At least ada laa tempat nak bawak orang jalan-jalan kalau diorg datang Kuantan nanti..Takdelaa bawak gi makannnnnn karipap jer sokmo..huhu..

Friendship + Football

People make friends through a lot of different ways.. Some can make friends easily, and some don't.. Some are friendly, and some are reserved.. But there are certain tools that can be used to connect people and make them click.. And one of the tools is sports, which in this case..FOOTBALL..and this is where the idea of Dan Dan FC came from..

History
Prior to 2006,there were not so many Malaysians around in Perth, or maybe people are just strangers to each other..So everyone was like scattered around..We can't even form a full Malaysian team..We had to mix with our Singaporean and some Indonesian friends..There was no such thing as friendly matches every weekends and such..There's only Sunday soccer to be played socially.. Main petang-petang orang kata..
Dan Dan FC '10

In 2006, with the friendly attitude of Fairuz, Hadry, Kale and Saz,we managed to get more people who play football..Since then, we had a proper team of Malaysian students..We even bought a set of Malaysian jerseys, and everytime we played,we brought our national flag along proudly..Seriously,it felt like playing for the national team..heheh.. Since that moment, we've been through a lot and have come a longgg way, with ups and downs, happy moments, conflicts, success, failures and everything.. That Malaysian team has evolved, and has become Dan Dan FC like how you see it is today..

new stars of DDFC

Football is just the tool, the medium to bring people together..And friendship is priceless..That is why in DDFC, "Friendship comes first, football second".. It's the networking, the bond created.. And so far, this thing has continued from generation to generation.. Even when you go back home after finishing studies, we'll be together.. You don't have to play the sport,or know anything about soccer at all..

Gold Coast '08

champion futsal merdeka
Before 2007,we usually played only in futsal or 7a-side tournaments.. There were Umno Merdeka Cup, Kampung Liga, SSS-tourney,etc.. Not more than that.. It was at the end of 2006, in Gold Coast,at Umno meeting, when me and Zac heard about Masca NCG..and WA had never sent any representatives before.. From there on, Masca NCG has become our primary target every year..It's like a World Cup for DDFC.. Imagine, naik flight pegi main bolaaaaa...hehe..

Melbourne '07

champion Bru tourney
Till today,we never failed to send a contingent every single year.. Melbourne,Brisbane,Sydney and Canberra.. Although luck was not on our side to win it yet.. But anyway,to be able to bring a full squad with the high costs and long journey every year is already an achievement in my opinion.. Considering that most of us are not that loaded ,not sponsored by anyone..It's all our own struggles, commitments and high spirits..

wedding Fad
Dan Dan is not exclusive, not groupy..thats what I hope it is.. It's just a name,a medium.. Back in Malaysia it is like an alumni.. After study, life's gonna be hectic and busy.. Once a year we'll try to gather everyone during summer holidays either December or January.. New generation, and those who already left.. We had few gatherings past few years, and hopefully will continue doing it annually.. We had futsal, football Dan Dan Legend vs DDFC Perth, buka puasa, attend weddings ramai-ramai, annual dinner, and such.. This coming 4th of September they'll be doing "Buka Puasa" for the second time, some where in KL..Last year we had it in Umbai,Melaka..
Dan Dan Yearbook
Hmm..I'm not sure how long it's gonna stay and continue like this..but I believe,Dan Dan has already created histories and memories for some..:-).. My only hope is that DDFC will continue to do what it's doing.. I've seen a lot of this kind of 'club','bond',that come and go.. Either because of mismanagement,or stupid conflicts..So far, DDFC has done well.. Even club Umno pun takleh maintain macam ni..trust me.. So,all the best people.. Enjoy!

Here are some collections of videos if you wanna watch..Hadry's Goal in Masca Melbourne, Kale's Crazy Celebration.. Tu jer yg ada kat youtube..huhu Yang lain semua kena tgk kat page fb DDFC lah.. Cheers guys..

Merdeka..Abroad..Perth

In less than a week,we are going to celebrate our 53rd Merdeka Day.. Just wanna share with you another experience, of me as a Malaysian who lives far away from home during merdeka...:-)..

In 2007, I got the opportunity to become the project manager for our Merdeka celebration again.. (click here for 2006).. Hmm,when we think about "Merdeka", there's only one thing in mind..UNITY.. So,that year, the basic idea was to involve everyone, all students..The reality in Perth during that time was, there were some gaps among the students community..We wanted to bridge that gap..So,for the first time ever,Umno, Masca, Petronas, and all Malaysian Student's Society of (Curtin,UWA,ECU,Murdoch), joint-ventured to organize it..The rest, was history..:-)

Other than the opening speech that I had to do on that day,

Kampung Perth

Perth...Apa laa yang ko best sangat??huhu.. Sometimes,I don't even understand it myself.. Is it the life, the memories, the people, the fresh air,or the place itself?

I've been around a lot of places in my life, but nothing compares to it.. The only place that can beat the feelings is Mekah I guess..Kuantan came close neck to neck,Boston is not too bad either,Madrid seems nice,London pun ok,Hawaii is heaven..

But nothing comes close..

I'm not saying other places are not good or unsuitable..I don't know, you just have to experience it yourself.. It can't be explained..Maybe it's just me..

Kat Perth, duduk diam kat rumah tak buat apa pun best..huhu!

Okeh,,time to studyyyyyyyyyyyyy...haha!

Merdeka..Merdeka

 The Perth experience
 Merdeka Joy in Perth

Just found these 2 old online newspaper articles in theStar,(click on the above)..The first one includes some interviews of me and Zac..In conjuction with this Merdeka month, let us bring back some memories of the unity of Malaysian Perthians.. It was our first big scale Merdeka Celebration in Perth ever, with Education Minister as the VIP.. As for me,organizing events like this has always becomes a kind of enjoyment, with the help of a lot of good, easy going people...2006,first year as VP for UMNO WA.. We had fun..

(tak tau laa apa Hadry kelentong Tok Pa,Didi sengihhh jer..huhu)
(A banner full of students' signatures & Merdeka greetings to be sent to the Prime Minister)

Kak Ijan, Wan Nadiah, dan seperti biasa, Zac and Pok Nik time tuh, adalah the mannnnnn...takde diorg ni semua, tak jadi semua mende:-)

It was a beautiful experience, full of Merdeka spirits..If only I can get more pictures and videos to show how happening it was..The minister told me personally that he enjoyed it so much, and stayed from the afternoon till dinner time..Gua sempat nyanyi untuk Aidil punya band lagi malam tuh..huhu...Tapi bila menteri dah balik laa..haha

Hmm..
Nak tergelak pun ada tengok budak-budak ni nyanyi lagu patriotik time tu, tapi sebab diorg lah semua aktiviti UMNO WA meriah, sepanjang dua tahun saya dalam committee.. Next post, might be 2007 punya celebration..Lagi gempak daripada yang ni..Till then, SELAMAT MENYAMBUT BULAN KEMERDEKAAN~
