Mind Your Language II

Sebelum nak citer dengan lebih lanjut,biar saya share apa yang buat saya tetiba nak menulis pasal bahasa ni.. Mende ni dah lama dipendam..Cuma last week,macam gua citer aritu,bila Dato' Wong ni told me something yang gua tak setuju,gua rasa gua ada tanggungjawab untuk memperbetulkan..Walaupun dalam blog sendiri..huhu~

When I asked the Executive Editor of The Star about what he thinks about our national language,this is what he told me; "Azrul,when I was in school,I was taught BM-'Bahasa Malaysia',but these days they teaching something called 'Bahasa Melayu - so divisive!"..Tu dia jawapan dia..

Mana saya tak hangin baca..huhu~

Kalau orang macam dia,yang dianggap very well educated,dan memegang jawatan penting dalam media utama negara pun boleh berfikiran sebegini,apatah lagi rakyat biasa..Apa maksud beliau dengan 'divisive'?..Takkan gua yang tak abih-abih lagi belajar ni pun nak ajar??huhu..

I had to give him an example,because I think he is confused..Let's take China for example,we all know that in reality,there is no such thing as 'Chinese Language'..(Russell Peters pun ada cakap pasal mende ni in his jokes..huhu..)..Yang ada,hanyalah bahasa Mandarin,Cantonese,Hokkien etc,dan macam-macam lagi..Jadi,dalam konteks yang sama,sebenarnya tiada istilah Bahasa Malaysia kalau diikutkan..Yang ada,hanya Bahasa Melayu..Dalam ertikata lain,Bahasa Melayu adalah dengan automatiknya merupakan Bahasa Malaysia..Takkan itu pun nak cakap 'divisive'?Is it because of the word 'Melayu'?..What about 'English',they don't have 'Bahasa Australia' here in Aussie..Hmm,should I say it's 'divisive'?

Tapi secara realitinya,pemikiran beliau adalah merupakan cerminan kepada pemikiran rakyat yang lain..Ramai yang tidak memahaminya..Dan perkara ini harus diperbetulkan..Sesuatu bahasa yang mempunyai taraf sebagai bahasa nasional,seperti Bahasa Melayu ini,tidak boleh dipandang dari konteks perkauman..Pemikiran seperti Dato' Wong ni,perlu diperbetulkan kerana ia agak bahaya jika dibiarkan..

Kita memilih Bahasa Melayu bukan semata-mata kerana mahu mempertahankan keistimewaan orang Melayu..Kita memilih Bahasa Melayu kerana ia boleh membawa kepada perpaduan rakyat..Bukan sedap-sedap kita jer..Jadi,adalah tanggungjawab kita untuk memastikan yang bahasa ini diangkat sebagai bahasa perpaduan..

Yaa..itulah asal-usul kejadian yang buat saya nak menulis pasal mende ni..Sebab saya tak berapa setuju aritu..huhu~ Tengokkkk,kan dah panjang post ni!hehe..Nak masuk bab Constitution kang lagi panjanggg.. Hmmmm,next post lahh..

I'll tell you how the language,the Constitution,education system and the interaction are co-related with each other,and how important it is,in order for us to achieve true UNITY..Penting untuk kita memahaminya,kerana dalam situasi sekarang,Bahasa Melayu lebih dilihat sebagai 'de facto' language,bukan bahasa rasmi seperti yang sepatutnya,sebagaimana yang diperuntukkan dalam perlembagaan..

Mind Your Language

I always want to write about this..BAHASA..

Tapi hari ni baru rasa nak menulis,sebab Dato' Seri Wong Sai Wan,an executive editor for The Star (a Malaysian daily newspaper) has told me about something that I don't really agreed with this morning..

As usual,Malaysian news is always full of racial rhetorics and ethno-centrics propaganda.. Something that we have to fix..and language is one of our sub-problems..I am a firm believer (bukan peminat Justin Bieber) that language is the best tool to achieve unity..

Pada zaman Maharaja Shih Huang Ti di negeri China beribu-ribu tahun yang lalu,rakyat dan wilayah-wilayah yang ada di bawah penguasaannya,hidup berpecah-belah dan tidak bersatu..Demi untuk menyatukan rakyatnya di bawah satu jajahan yang besar,Shih Huang Ti menggunakan bahasa Mandarin sebagai satu standard bahasa untuk negara China..

"In an effort to reinforced the idea of a unified China,Ch'in Shih Huang-Ti instituted a program to standardize the Chinese language,as well as measurements for width and length,and a series of roads and canals were built to converge on the capital city of Xianyang.." (Ch'in Shih-Huang-Ti,Science and Its Times,2005-2006)

Di Indonesia,pada zaman Presiden Sukarno,beliau menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia untuk menyatukan 17,000 kepulauan dan ribuan etnik-etnik berlainan bangsa dan bahasa..Dari Kupang,Irian Jaya, hingga ke tanah Jawa dan Sumatera,semuanya tahu berbahasa Indonesia..Dan seluruh rakyat lebih mudah bersatu dengan penggunaan bahasa yang sama..

Kalau negara-negara yang besar ini boleh disatukan rakyatnya dengan penggunaan bahasa yang sama,kenapa tidak kita,sebuah negara yang lebih kecil dari segi nisbah bangsa dan bahasa rakyatnya?

Kenapa sampai sekarang kita masih lagi bermasalah?

To be able to understand this,we cannot run from the fact that the major source of this problem,came from our school system..I'll try to give some explanations,as much as I can.. National integration,is always one of my interests,something that I always like to encourage among Malaysians..

I have nothing against any other language in Malaysia..In fact,I love them too..I love our diversity..How I always wish that I can speak Mandarin fluently..But now,we are talking about UNITY..

Kalau Shih-Huang-Ti,dia pakai cara dictatorial sikit..He was infamous for eliminating what was known as Hundreds School of Thoughts to suit his ambition of a unified China.. Presiden Sukarno menggunakan kaedah Asimilasi..Kita?What shall we do?Not until that level perhaps..

All my next coming posts will touch about this issue..In terms of what we have in our Federal Constitution, my own experience in Malaysia,what I've faced in Australia while mingling around with other Malaysians,and some stories happened during my time in UMNO Club not so long ago..

ABCB - Korge Didahulukan,Makanan Diutamakan

Last weekend,for the third time in a row,I've missed another ABCB Family Day..I've been told that there were around 200 people attended the Family Day this time around..Danggg,time aku takde laa ramai orang boleh turun..huhu..My Family Day is usually held every two or three years and if I'm not mistaken,last weekend's was the fifth one..

ABCB stands for 'anak beranak Che Bi'..Che Bi is the name of my late grandmother..She's well known in Pekan during that time with that name..Nama betul Arbiah..:-)..I called her 'Mak', like how most of us in the family do..That shows how close we were with her..Till today,I never mention her as 'arwah' Mak,cause she's still here,inside me all the time..and forever it will be~

Mak,with her first daughter (Mama),first cucu (my Kak Long),and first cicit (Hani,anak Kak Long saya)..4 different generation..

ABCB is the acronym used to describe my whole extended family..The whole clan..Believe me,it's BIG..and the best part of it- we are really closed to each other..:-)

During those days when I was a kid,we didn't have all this family day thingy..Sebab kami selalu berkumpul di kampung kitorg kat Pekan..Everytime during school holidays,we'll be sent over to Pekan to live with Mak,or tidur rumah mak-mak saudara yang lain..I was quite fortunate to be able to experience a 'kampung lifestyle'.. All of us,cousins will mengaji al-Quran with Mak,main hujan,kalau musim banjir main banjir,menyibuk time Mak Zah bakar sampah,panjat pokok jambu belakang rumah,kene kejar dengan angsa,kutip buah rambutan pakai galah,bagi ayam makan hampas kelapa,main kejar-kejar,tangkap berudu (berudu in English apa ek?),pegi main tikam kedai Nyah or kedai Haji bla..bla..bla..Bestnyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!haha..

But now,kampung pun dah jadi modern,people has moved over to some other places,kerja jauh-jauh, masing-masing busy,beranak-pinak etc..Time has become so limited for everyone to meet each other frequently..And pity those younger generations now,that they don't have the time and environment to play like how we used to during our days.. Budak-budak sekarang akan lepak main komputer,PS3 laa,Ipad etc.. So,the interactions between them becoming less and less..and a Family Day like this,is always important to keep the bonding strong..I was brought up with a very strong family bonds between us,and it has to be continued to the younger generation of ABCB..

They all looked soo sihat alhamdulillah..

We are not a rich family,tetapi kita juga bukan orang susah..What made us strong as a family is the love and our sense of belonging.. Kita tidak ada masalah berebut harta macam orang lain..Kita tidak bermasam muka lama-lama bila berselisih faham.. Kita tidak ada masalah dengki-mendengki sesama saudara..I've heard soooo many stories about other people's family yang berpecah-belah,siap ada yang berbomoh-bomoh lagi, and I thank Allah that it never happened in our family..I always pray that it will continue for the rest of our life..

Di hari-hari akhir Mak ketika hayatnya,saya bersamanya hampir sepanjang masa..There were times when there was only two of us..I talked a lot to Mak when we were together.. She's the most humble and caring person that I've ever met..I swear to God..Even when she was lying down,sick during her final days..Dia tau dia sakit,tapi dia tak nak dan takut dia akan menyusahkan orang..Sedangkan,saya hanyalah seorang cucu that will do anything for my grandmother..Mak asked me to be next to her bed most of the time until her last day..We had some private conversations together kadang-kadang..:-)..Moments that I will treasure till I die..~



Mak never worried about her health condition,she was strong..The only thing she worried about was her family.."Aku takut anak cucu aku nanti berpecah-belah bila aku dah tak ada nanti~",that's what she said..I know,I was there..So I believe that was her 'will' that everyone in the family have to keep in mind as a reminder forever..

All the younger generation now might have never met their grandparents,but we will make sure yang tunjuk ajar Mak tentang kasih sayang,hormat-menghormati dan adab-adab dalam berkeluarga akan terus menjadi ikutan dan pedoman dalam hidup mereka..

And today,I know Mak will be smiling if she see all these..She will know that we always try not to take things for granted..:-)

Happy Family Day ABCB!!!!~ Kudos to the organizers..Lain kali,reti-reti laa buat time gua cuti yaaaaaa.... haha!



Macam biasa nampaknya,diorg ni main rounders laa,galah panjang laa,sukaneka sume... Apatah lagi makannnnn,huhu..Keluarga saya memang kuat makann..Tengok lerr size masing-masing..Wakaka! Keluarga piranha laa katakan..hehe..Memang jangan harap gua nak tengok gambar makanan yang korang bagi..hehe.. Yahuuuuuu, memang 'tak' jelesss langsung laaa aku kat sini...hahaha...:-p

Telematch,karaoke,mandi kolam,galah panjang,lucky draw,ginrummy,(betul ke eja ni..haha) dan macam-macam ada.."Rounders"-feveret kitorg ni time kecik-kecik..Main macam ala-ala softball gitu..huhu~

Masa kecik-kecik,gua ni gemuk and montel..huhu.. Tapi,nak main bola gak,tak nak kalahhhhh..Maklumlah, because I went to the all-boys school di St.Thomas, Kuantan..Time sekolah rendah,the whole school called me 'Anba',referring to Pahang punya famous striker time tu,A.Anbalagan, hehe!Jadi kalau ada sapa-sapa panggil gua Anba sekarang,gua tau laa tu member gua time kecik zaman sekolah rendah..I believe you also have this kind of nick name thing kan?..

Tapi dalam hati gua,gua tau sebenarnya,gua main bola ni sebab gua ada darah Italian..So I decided to continue my quest in order to find the truth..I will prove it one day!Gua terusssskan main bola..

In 1990,the World Cup was held in Italy..Tak tau kenapa,gua rasa sedih giler time semi-final when the Italian lost to Argentina,padahal time tu gua sokong West Germany..Littbarski,Matthaeus and the gang..~

Then during high school days,I got to know this guy..He's the main reason why I played football..I wanted my game style to be exactly like him..In fact,time sekolah menengah gua simpan ekor kat belakang sebab nak tiru dia..huhu.."Divine Ponytail" laa katakann..haha~ Yesss...he is my idol in soccer..I want to be like him...A fine soccer player and a cool guy...The one and only -Roberto Baggio-

Since knowing him,I became a hardcore Azzuri fan till today..It's always devastating whenever we lost in every major tournaments..We lost in World Cup USA '94 Final to Brazil,kalah ngan France in Euro 2000 sudden-death extra time,lost to Korean next,etc...(huhu,nampak penggunaan perkataan 'we' di situ)..~

In 2006,at last,we became the World Champion~huhu..Forza Italia!!!!!!!Sayang Baggio dah tak ada..-

Last Thursday,I had a futsal tournament with Kickers FC here in Adelaide replacing An,who's injured..

We did well and went on to the final..Yessss~It was a draw 0-0 till the final whistle..The game had to be decided with penalty shoot-out...jeng jeng jeng...Sebijik macam final world cup '94..

And then ...........................................................



Akhirnya...Aku berjaya menjadi Baggio~

We lost because of my penalty miss....Wakaka~

..But at least,I solved my Italian blood mystery..

All You Need Is Doves

Ingatkan banyak masa nak menulis cuti ni..Sekali busy laa pulakkk..huhu..brrrrr~

Two of my childhood friends came over to visit me in Aussie..Lama takde orang melawat gua kat Oz,so best gak aah kali ni..Went fishing in Busselton..:-)..Also took that opportunity to pay a visit to my Perth familia.. Feel so good to meet them after long..Farra and Afzal cooked Salmon Curry baekkk punyerr...Semua orang nampak sihat,alhamdulilah..Cuma satu jer tak sempat,nak main bola untuk Dan Dan..I wanted to see all the new players..Ramai player baru tahun ni..

But anyway,I can see that DDFC is doing well and heading into the right path again..Football and friendship.. To be honest,I think my time to be directly involved with DDFC is over..I would love to see DDFC to carry on and achieve glory..It is more important for the club to grow with its current players..Let the new players enjoy the feeling being with Dan Dan,the culture and feel important..This year, the club has reach it's six years anniversary.. Bukan senang nak buat and carry on the legacy,as a club who doesn't have any financial source and proper management..It's all based on their own commitment,passion and vision..Kudos to these people, especially Mamat and Afzal for continuing the philosophy this year!

I would be proud if DDFC can go on for another few years..Dapat lepas 10 tahun dah kira ok laa gua rasa.. Maybe one day we can be a proper club in Western Australia Soccer League..Who knows kan?..If things go well,I wouldn't be surprised..I know that we can get financial support from the ministry if we have such club in overseas..It's already been discussed with our Sports Minister when he came down to Perth last year..Hmm, kita tengok lah nanti macam mana..Tak salah kalau kita ada long-term planning..:-)..Let me experience how they run a social football club here in Adelaide ni dulu..

Club yang gua main sekarang,Immanuel Doves,ada tiga team (1A Division,1B Division and 4th Division)..Semua sekali players ada dekat 65 orang..Ada few other clubs yang dah established more than 25 years ada 5-6 team,sebab overall there are 6 Divisions all together..All the clubs kena ada homeground sendiri..

Macam club gua ni,ada 9 orang committee,4 coaches and 15 orang pom-pom girlssss..haha...Pom-pom girls tu tipuuu jerr..Sebagai amateur club,I think the concept is very suitable to DDFC and WakDan..Most of my team mates are professionals dalam pekerjaan masing-masing..Engineers, architects, managers etc..Bukan calang-calang orang..Professional hackers pun ada..huhu!

Bulan Mac,dah keluar schedule sampai laa penghujung season bulan September..So mentally and physically, semua orang dah kena ready.. Ceyyy,gaya cakap macam aku ready sangat laaa konon nya..huhu!Tapi nak tak nak ketahanan body kene mantap laa...Every game confirm kena langgar punyaaa..Geng-geng Aussie ni tau main rempuhhh jerr..Mcm main footie!!Nasib baik aku belajar silat dulu..Selalunya sebelum diorg langgar, gua dah ready nak melayang dulu..huhu..Dapat free kick,and smart play...Bukannya dive pun..Cuma satu jer laa,telinga kena tahan maki laa..hehe~

So far,it has been a very good new experience for me..Being a captain for a mat saleh's club in Adelaide 1B Division has never ever came into my imagination before..In fact,I never thought that I would still play soccer.. I've lost the inspiration last year,and somehow this club has given me new motivation in it's own way..

Sebagai budak kampung,pengalaman ketika diumumkan sebagai captain dalam sebuah bar restaurant yang besar, dikelilingi oleh mat saleh ramai-ramai yang semuanya bertepuk sambil mengangkat gelas beer masing-masing (which is their tradition,jangan ingat gua minum gak) to congratulate me,adalah satu pengalaman yang 'kelakar',susah nak describe sini..haha~..Walaupun separuh daripada mereka muka agak terkejut,huhu,but everyone was supportive and showed their respects..Gua tak biasa mende-mende gini..But it is definitely priceless..I even got personal texts and emails from 'otai-otai' in the team to wish me well till today..:-)..Hari tu time tengah bercuti kat Perth pun ada yang suruh gua balik awal..

Ooo yaa...lupa nak bagitau..Hampir semua orang dalam team ingat gua umur 25-26..huhu~..Tu yang best duk Oz ni,they never ask..hehe..Time coaches bagi speech,semua cakap we need a young man to lead laa,lead by example laa,new direction laa, bla..bla..bla..bla.. Aku buat diiiiiiaaaammm jer..haha~

Satu jer susah,nak kena cakap omputih sokmo dalam padang throughout the game..Half-time lak nak kena bagi motivation in English..Ntah diorg paham ke tak aku tak tau lerr..haha..Macam last week,nak marah keeper tangkap bola macam sial,sekali keluar ayat tahap sekolah rendah dengan spontan nya dari mulut aku..wakaka..Ingat dah Gerrard abis dahhh..hahaha.. Tak jadi aku nak marah...akhirnya menggelakkan diri sendiri dalam hati..kihkihkih..

Sekarang Aan,Pong and few others pun dah join,so senang sikit ler..ada geng..huhu~I also would like them to experience the same thing..To experience a totally different kind of mentality and attitude from what we Malaysian usually have in mind..To enjoy the sense of healthy competitiveness and tougher physical challenge..I am enjoying having them in the team..Omputih pun dah tak pandang rendah kat kita..

Somehow,all these has lifted my trust towards life/people again..If last year I was being devalued,ridiculed and despised by friends and those who I cared the most and were closed to my heart,this year,things turned out that all the appreciations and acknowledgments came from total strangers..Pelik kan?hehe..but that's LIFE~

Let me learn from all this,and hopefully it can only be good for future developments of DDFC,Wakdan, or sapa-sapa lah..hehe..I also want to involve in grassroots football development in Pahang nanti..Apa yang baik kita share share ya..No worries~

Midfield General II

Akhirnya segala penyeksaan telah pun berakhir buat sementara waktu,and now I have some spare time to do some writing,typing whatever...*happy*

I want to forget about Lynas,politics and other serious stuffs for a while here..I will talk about it when it is suitable..Ikut hati macam-macam mende aku nak tulis sini..Tapi biar dulu aah..Gua tengah hangat pasal bola sekarang,jadi banyak tulis pasal bola laa kut next few posts..heheh..Sebelum itu,saya nak buat pengumuman-

Liverpool F.C has CONFIRMED datang Malaysia on July 12th,2011!!!

It is now OFFICIAL!!!!Malaysia is the first country confirmed in the Reds Asian Summer Tour 2011.. ~Yahuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!~ Just got the good news from one Scouser tadi.. Harap-harap tak tukar tarikh or cancel..Dah cantik dah dengan diary gua ni..huhu..Chelsea and Arsenal might be coming too,tapi gua tak sure diorg dah confirm ke belum..Tapi tak kisah sangat ler,sebab dua-dua aku dah tengok..

Sekarang,balik kepada nak cerita tentang pengalaman dan kisah-kisah hidup..huhu..Lama gua tak bercerita..Current experience,and some old time stories..:-)..Maklumlaa,dah tua...hehe.. Okay,tapi sebelum tu nak update sikit cerita dari post "Midfield General" tempohari..Jadi,mari kita mengarut-ngarut dulu...huhu~

Di hening pagi 21hb Mac 2011,akhirnya,setelah dua minggu lebih menunggu dengan hati yang tabah dan bergelora,barang yang dikirimkan oleh Fabregas telah pun sampaiiiiiiii! Yahuuuuuuu~.. Straight from UK..Alhamdulillah.. Thanks bro!!!..Susah susah jerrr lu.. (Gua dah nyaris nak bakor post office dah aritu..huhu!)..Nasib baikkkk..Tu laa orang cakap,sabar tu sebahagian daripada iman..Tengok hasilnya...hehe~

Walaupun main bola tak pandai mana,gua tak kira..Gua dah terkena virus CTR ni gara-gara Saz ngan Apiz kat One Utama aritu..Dua bulan aku tahan nafsu..Akhirnya,sebagai insan yang lemah,ku terjebak juaaa..Setelah dua minggu mengusha menatang ni kat online pulak aritu,campur lagi dibakar oleh Lau Pan dan beberapa hantu bola lain seperti Aan dan Zaid kat Adelaide ni lagi,aku ter'click' jugak mouse tu..Sejak kejadian itu,bermulalah episod makan maggi setiap hari..Tapi walau bagaimanapun,hasilnya tetap ho yehhh..huhu~

Ini bukan cake yaa..

Yeap,saya jarang beli mende-mende mahal..So,of course it seems like I'm a lil bit excited here..huhu..Sebab gua susah nak dapat mende-mende gini..Jarang berlaku dalam hidup saya..Ni boot paling mahal pernah gua beli..No more after this..Promise~..Ni pun dah rasa bersalah...Tapi,oleh sebab nak jadi Midfield General punya pasal,saya pasrah dan akur dengan nasihat Fabregas tempohari..ngehehehe!..

Anyway,terus terang cakap,this CTR360 Maestri II Elite is definitely one of the best boots yang gua pernah pakai.. (Hmm,adakah mungkin sebab gua tak penah beli but-but power yg lain??huhu..)..Tapi serius, memang sedap..Tak tipu.. Kalau tak percaya,try laa..Tapi jangan harap gua nak bagi try yang gua punya..haha!First time aku cuci but setiap kali lepas pakai tauuu..

Actually,there's a reason why I bought this football shoes..and hopefully I can tell you in my next post.:-)

KKK-Keeping Kuantan 'K'lean (III)

Okay..Probably this gonna be my last post about Lynas..Tapi tak tau lah..Tengok macam mana..I still think that this issue is quite important..More important than the sex video yang entah apa-apa tu..I managed to advice Nik Nazmi also about it and got his reply..Deep inside,I still hope that what I saw in the video is not true..If it is,than it's gonna be a really really sad day for Malaysia..

Oops,back to the story..:-)

My argument about Lynas project in Kuantan has already been noticed by certain quarters in the government.. Since the last two weeks, surprisingly,I was able to have some little debates with MB's special officer,Kuantan MP,Exco Member, and some few other professionals about the issue.. Thanks to technology~..

Kelakar gak rasa..huhu..Gua bukan sapa-sapa pun..I am just concern about my hometown..Tu jer..So nak tak nak,diorg kena jawab aaa apa yang gua bagi.. Cuma ada satu kali tu ada sorg doktor from the opposition, Dr.Joyce nama dia,cakap gua dibayar oleh kerajaan BN,makan harta rakyat..Siap tanya berapa gua dapat dari projek ni,BN suap sebab next GE dah dekat..wakaka!..Tak pasal-pasal..Bila argument takleh dijawab,tukar jadi isu politik pulak..haha~..Dia tak tau aku student cabuk jer kat sini..hehe..

Today,it looks like the issue is really heading towards the right direction..I can't elaborate much here..But the government seems to understand now why all this objections has to be handled properly..Pendek kata,message kenapa rakyat tak nak projek ni,dah sampai..From what happened in last night's event (they had two briefing sessions--experts/public),I believe the government should have understood by now..I was satisfied with their reactions..They should also have learned now that transparency and public consent,is very essential and should always be one of the main criteria before any projects involving the environment, health,safety,community or heritage being approved..At least for now perhaps..

Jadi marilah kita doa yang terbaik,walaupun anda bukan orang Kuantan ya..:-)..

Like how my friend,Patrick Khoo said,"It is simple - Can Lynas solve the waste problem?..If no, then get the hell out!"
